Does nobody find it incongruous that people of color are singing and dancing for liberty and equality in 1776? Yes, it is very well written. Yes, it is very well staged. Yes, it is very well performed. But all those things only make the bourgeois nature of it even worse. Those performers on stage would not be singing and dancing in 1776.
Sorry. Let's just ignore the genocide, the ethnic cleansing, the chattel slavery of people of color in the time period being celebrated. Let's all just pretend like talented people of color today can ignore the truth and cash in, and it is all good. Close your eyes if you can. While the performers are getting paid, who is making the real money.

The writing of the songs is fantastic and they are soooo catchy
Set design was brilliant and seeing this stage production through a camera was really enticing and left me wanting more

Not many. But I did become a little confused with some plot points, that may have just been me though
Overall, I thought 'Hamilton' was an absolute blast. The songs, performances were truly amazing and I will be listening to the soundtrack for a while now! Hats off to Lin-Manuel Miranda because he has crafted this from the ground and wrote the lyrics to the songs and the script. Honestly it is a fantastic achievement for him. I've never been a massive fan of musical theatre but 'Hamilton' has proved to me that there are some gems out there. I hope Disney or other companies release future productions on streaming sites because I can guarantee 'Hamilton' will be a wide success.
